Picks and Pans Review: Corinne Bailey Rae

"Put Your Records On"

Although we would have liked to have seen Justin Timberlake nominated for "SexyBack" or, better yet, "My Love," this is still a killer category. The fact that the weakest link is probably "You're Beautiful" says a lot about the strength of these records. Blige's "Be Without You" was her own "We Belong Together," while Bailey Rae had us all letting our hair down with "Put Your Records On." The Dixie Chicks took a defiant stance against their critics on "Not Ready to Make Nice." But the single we went wildest for in 2006 was "Crazy," an insanely inspired production that united old-school soulsters and glow-stick-waving ravers on one big happy dance floor.
