"Drew has never been more beautiful than she is right now," says makeup artist Gucci Westman, who has worked with Barrymore (wearing baubles by fave jewelry designer Ofira on Jan. 26) for four years.
At her first Oscars in '83, the 8-year-old ET star stole the show in a "frilly pink dress" and—before she swore off fur—white angora stole.
"I was just being myself," Barrymore told PEOPLE of the controversial daisy do she sported at the '98 Oscars. She did better with her off-the-rack gown: "I live for a good backless dress," she said.
"Drew's such a chameleon," says Westman, who created a "glamorous Hollywood" look for an '03 Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle premiere.
"By the time she walked out the door, she was so happy and beautiful" says hairstylist Giannandrea, who gave Barrymore an upswept look for this year's Golden Globes. Adds Westman: "I wanted her to look like a pearl, with tanned, yummy-looking skin. She wore that gorgeous [John] Galliano dress, and it really worked so well."
At the 25th anniversary of SNL in '99, a 24-year-old Barrymore kicked it in one of her favorite looks—a hippie-chick shawl and flowing skirt.
