REALITY
L.A. decorator Whitman's clientele includes Jessica Alba and Virginia Madsen, and her new series is nice, lightweight entertainment as long as it sticks to the star projects at hand. (Alba is redoing her parents' kitchen, which gets a sink large enough to bathe an elephant; Madsen's living room gets done over in a Hawaiian theme.) We also end up knowing more than necessary about Whitman: her passion for rescuing dogs, the malfunctioning navigational system in her car, the intravenous vitamin drip she orders when she feels run down, her many assistants. She can't resist reminding us how invigoratingly crazy her life is. I suppose it might be edifying to know how frantic Condi Rice's days are. From Kari, I just want details on Madsen's hula-girl wallpaper.
