NBC, in danger of becoming a Nielsen sideshow, turns into a midway with its second circus special in as many nights. Bruce Jenner introduces some of Ringling Bros.' more impressive acts, including aerialist Elvin Bale being shot from a rocket launcher, Pedro Carillo walking the high wire, trapeze artist Tito Gaona attempting the never-accomplished quadruple somersault, and Ursula Boettcher coaxing 10 polar bears through their paces.
