She's a small-town girl from the Midwest and a natural-born ice skater. He's the hockey player left behind when she goes after fame and fortune. Then, just on the brink of a try at the Olympics, she's injured. He saves her from despair. Newcomer Lynn-Holly Johnson, a 19-year-old who does all her own very impressive figures, and Robby (One on One) Benson are innocent and appealing. Tom (The Turning Point) Skerritt, as the possessive pop, and Colleen Dewhurst, as coach, are also fine. All the beautiful winter scenery and warm-blooded sentimentality are pretty standard, but it's guaranteed to make audiences cry, and little girls everywhere will immediately want to become skaters.
