Picks and Pans Review: Silent Victory: the Kitty O'neil Story

Stockard (Grease) Channing portrays the stunt-woman who drove a rocket car a record 513 mph and became a Hollywood personage, despite being deaf. James Farentino plays stuntman Duffy Hambleton, Colleen Dewhurst is Kitty's determined mother and Edward Albert is an early boyfriend. They're all excellent but still upstaged by Channing's nuance-filled performance. She may accomplish the stunt CBS hopes the made-for-TVer pulls off: boosting Stockard Channing in Just Friends, a sitcom opening next week.
