Bill Anderson

Wait a minute. Check that label. Yes, it's Bill Anderson, all right—Whispering Bill Anderson, the sentimental C&W man and host of The Better Sex, a now-departed game show. But this is a disco album on which old Bill ventures even the hardest-core boogie number, Kiss You All Over. Anderson dabbled in disco in last year's album with I Can't Wait Any Longer. He apparently was encouraged enough to edit that tune down to 3 min. 32 sec. with an eye toward a hit single. This time, though, he's come up with an unfortunate blend of ersatz disco and distorted country that is as silly as the jacket photograph of 41-year-old Bill wearing a low-cut shirt and a gold chain around his neck.
