Harry (Movie Movie) Hamlin is well cast as the disillusioned youth in post-World War I Chicago in this rendering of the trilogy by James T. Farrell (see page 43). Charles Durning and a vividly bitchy Colleen Dewhurst, as his parents, head an excellent supporting cast. (The concluding two-hour segments air the next two Wednesdays.)
