Picks and Pans Review: Tucson, Cornelia and Gila Bend Railroad

UPDATED 04/02/1979 at 01:00 AM EST Originally published 04/02/1979 at 01:00 AM EST

This Arizona line hasn't discovered inflation. The one-way 97¢ fare (49¢ for children) has survived since 1948. The train runs from Ajo through 44 miles of desert and mountains to Gila Bend, where there's a 55-minute stopover. A 7 a.m. departure means the round trip is over by 12:15.
