Picks and Pans Review: The Boston Goes to China

The Boston Symphony Orchestra strolls the Great Wall, banquets with Deng Xiaoping (Teng Hsiaoping), visits factories and not incidentally plays four concerts to almost surrealistically enthusiastic Chinese audiences. The climax of this film shot last March is enough to make old paper tigers on both sides see red: The Bostonians join the Peking Philharmonic for Stars and Stripes Forever.
