NBC (9 p.m. ET)

David Niven is wonderfully suave as the World War II British espionage director, Sir William Stephenson, lionized in a 1976 best-seller that inspired this six-hour series (it winds up Monday and Tuesday). Michael York is fine as a scenic designer turned agent, while the onetime princess of hippie actresses, Barbara Hershey, has matured as a spy who parachuted into Occupied France.
