The late William Cody rests on Lookout Mountain, Colo., 20 miles west of Denver, and the gravesite is not worth the trip. A collection of firearms in the adjacent museum may briefly excite the youngsters, for those interested in turning kids on to guns. And there's a little gift shop offering trinkets. But if you are going to Lookout Mountain for the view, forget it. All anyone can see from the peak—except on a few exceptional clear days—is a depressing cloud of smog shrouding Denver. Colorado's capital is now second only to L.A. among major U.S. cities in levels of pollution.
