Uncle Walter Cronkite positively purrs as he anchors a science newsmagazine that opens with an animated sequence telescoping 20 billion years of history into a few minutes. It takes longer to report the fight against multiple sclerosis (focusing on the case of cellist Jacqueline DuPré), how lunar satellite pictures may explain an 800-year-old myth about happenings on the moon, and the possibility of an earthquake near Hollywood. Colorful, simple analogies make things clear in a sampler that deserves to be a series.
