Max Von Sydow is a rigid New England clergyman who attempts to "civilize" the natives in the 1966 movie version of James Michener's novel. Julie Andrews is Sydow's wife. Carroll O'Connor (pre-Archie Bunker) and Gene Hackman also appear in the sometimes laughable rerun.
