The Boston Pops premieres its three-month series of weekly broadcasts with music by Strauss, Flotow and Offenbach. Flutist James Galway, as soloist, performs Debussy and Denver (John, that is). Arthur Fiedler, 85, conducts; the concert was filmed before his recent heart attack.
