This TV movie is refreshing even on second viewing. Kristy (Family) McNichol is superb as the misunderstood daughter of the only Jewish couple in a Southern town in 1944. She befriends escaped German POW Bruce Davison, and Esther Rolle is equally fine as the domestic who comforts her. The production details are a level above the TV standard, and the drama captures the feel of its time and place. (Repeat)
