NBC (8 p.m. ET)

Gary Coleman, NBC's only prime-time star who is able to hit the long ball in the Nielsens, stars in this made-for-TVer as a batboy who guides baseball's San Diego Padres to the World Series. The Diff'rent Strokes here (it's a remake of the 1953 Dan Dailey-Anne Bancroft movie of the same title) are taken by co-stars Ed McMahon, Robert Guillaume, Gary Collins and Tab Hunter, a veteran of the genre, having starred in the film of Damn Yankees.
