Picks and Pans Review: Before and After

Before is fat, after is slim. In between, Patty Duke Astin loses a husband and gains a lover, Barbara Feldon copes with anorexia, and Betty White deftly portrays a group leader of "Calorie Counters." The paunchy script leans heavily on schmaltz, like Astin jogging to the Rocky theme.
