One guest, but non-nominee, is Dolly Parton, who may have been ostracized by the Nashville-based CMA for going pop, though Rogers and the other Entertainer of the Year contenders—Crystal Gayle, Barbara Mandrell, Willie Nelson and the Statlers—are hardly pure country.
