Terry Wiles, now 18, was a thalidomide victim, born blind in one eye and without arms or legs. He plays himself in this remarkable docudrama about transcendent love and courage. British actors Bryan Pringle and Judi Dench are first-rate as Len and Hazel Wiles, Terry's adoptive parents, who devote their lives to making his livable. (See Inventors, page 89, for a description of the devices Len built for his son.)
