Photographs by Diane Keaton

Yes, it's Diane Keaton the actress who snapped the pictures of hotel interiors that constitute this book. But don't buy it expecting to see shots of Warren Beatty lurking behind a potted palm or Woody Allen being intimidated by a bellhop. There is not one face shown in the 44 photos. Nor is there a preface or explanation except for simple captions identifying the hotel and city. The scenes are primarily seedy or funky. In photography, as in her other lines of work, Keaton is an enigmatic artist. (Knopf, hardcover, S 17.50, paperback, $8.95)
