The timing on this drama about school busing seems late, but in any case the vehicle is in a rut. Richard Widmark is understandably bored as a judge in a case involving a tragic bus burning that occasions every platitude ever uttered on the subject. Ruby Dee and Ossie Davis play the black couple and Ned Beatty and Mariclare Costello are the white couple at the center of the dispute.
