CBS (9-11 p.m. ET)

A TV movie yearns to do for recombinant DNA research what The China Syndrome did for nuclear energy. Jason Miller plays an arrogant biologist tinkering with genes. His assistant (Christine Lahti) vacillates between fear of creating a new disease strain and curiosity. A cynical husband, an alarmed mayor and an equivocating college president are involved too. They end up in a mutation of stereotypes and slack scripting.
