In the tradition of Mach-speed progress in aviation, the U.S. Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base has been outdated by the Smithsonian's Air and Space building. But Wright-Pat offers a free, 160-airplane panorama in a more realistic environment. Its exhibits include the B-29 that dropped the A-bomb on Nagasaki, combat planes from all eras and a U-2 spy craft.
