The Cardinal Spellman Philatelic Museum, one of the world's largest stamp inventories with nearly five million specimens, began with the hobby of New York's Francis Cardinal Spellman. Before he died in 1967, he compiled a huge collection and talked others—including Dwight Eisenhower—into donating theirs. Once a month, at a "dealer's bourse," aficionados can buy, sell and trade.
