Picks and Pans Review: Thornwell

CBS (9-11 p.m. ET)

Wrongfully accused of stealing secret documents in 1961, U.S. Army Private James Thornwell (see story, p. 80) became a mental and spiritual casualty after months of harsh interrogation, truth-serum injections and a massive dose of LSD slipped into his water by Army intelligence agents. Despite Glynn Turman's strong starring performance, this uneven dramatization of Thornwell's true story rarely matches its good intentions.
