The 1979 Kurt Russell-Season Hubley telebio Elvis! is a hard act to follow. Stephanie Zimbalist is surprisingly persuasive as his paramour Linda Thompson (now Mrs. Bruce Jenner), but the drama suffers from Thompson's self-serving message (she was "creative consultant") that, cheez, it's tough living with a millionaire sex symbol. Don Johnson is praiseworthy as the King, but did Elvis really lounge around in tight leather pants and metal-studded capes?
