Picks and Pans Review: Moot Points

by J.C. Duffy

Duffy, a neophyte cartoonist at 30, has a sense of humor that can make B. Kliban seem like W. Disney. A pig looming on a horizon is captioned, "Suppose giant 'bull swine' roamed the earth, and the only way to scare them was to show them their own reflection. Wow!" A bovine astronaut in a rocket ship—"First Cow on the Moon"—says, "Sweet Jesus, this is no simple trek to the north forty!" Many drawings feature pigs and/or deserts; if that means something, it's a moot point. (Addison-Wesley, $3.95)
