Barbara Bach & Ringo Are Now Starring in An Altared State

It could have been a page torn from another era. As London bobbies held back an adoring crowd, Ringo Starr, 40, emerged from the Marylebone Town Hall with his beaming bride, actress Barbara Bach, 31. Paul McCartney and George Harrison followed the couple out of the registry, evoking the Beatle-mania of 15 years ago. And yet the death last December of John Lennon made the rare reunion a bittersweet occasion.

Ringo, who met Bach on the set of their current movie, Caveman, wore black except for white shoes and a red carnation. His bride's ivory taffeta gown was made by the Emanuels, Lady Diana's designers. After the ceremony some 70 friends joined the newlyweds at a Mayfair disco, where the Beatle trio held an impromptu jam—Paul on piano, George on guitar and Ringo drumming on an upturned ice bucket with a knife and fork. A reported selection: the old Lennon-McCartney gem, All You Need Is Love. That Was a fitting send-off for the couple, as Ringo soon faces a suit in L.A. from ex-love Nancy Andrews for $5 million in palimony.
