Lou Gossett Jr. plays persuasively the great baseball pitcher Satchel Paige, now 84, who in a nearly 40-year career became the first black to pitch in the major leagues, helping the Cleveland Indians win the 1948 World Series. An Indian teammate, General Hospital's John Beradino (see story, page 79), co-stars in the heavy-hitting TV movie.
