Rod Steiger and Nancy Marchand star in the original 1953 broadcast of the late Paddy Chayefsky's poignant Marty. The show inaugurates a wonderfully welcome series of eight dramas that were first aired live between 1948 and 1960. Other monthly plays include Paul Newman in 1956's Bang the Drum Slowly, Andy Griffith making his TV debut in 1955's No Time for Sergeants and Piper Laurie and Cliff Robertson in 1958's The Days of Wine and Roses.
