NBC (9-11 p.m. ET)
Given an unlimited bus ticket upon her retirement after 50 years of teaching sixth grade, New England stoic Bette Davis searches out her long-ignored relations and discovers a swaggering Senator (David Huddleston), a young women's libber (Kathryn Walker), a sweet simpleton (David Rounds)—and learns a host of lessons about the breakdown, and repair, of families. Interestingly, Davis' own grandson, J. Ashley Hyman, plays a former student who joins her on her journey. Part II of this affecting TV movie airs on Monday.
