An anthology of letters to Dear Abby—with her snappy answers—this is more fun than most Bob Hope routines. Pauline Esther Friedman (Abby's real name) began by helping her twin, Esther Pauline Friedman, write the Ann Landers column. In a brief introduction, PoPo (Abby's nickname) admits there has been a jealous strain between her and her sister, but claims that's all past. (Abby allegedly revived the feud, though, in a recent magazine interview that quoted her as saying Ann "simply didn't know what forgiveness was.") It's clear that any topic is discussable in Dear Abby, but what confuses Americans most is sex. One chapter is entitled "Too Much and Not Enough"—readers' two major complaints. Even Abby draws the line sometimes, though. One letter is quoted: "I'm a good Christian woman who loves her husband, but he wants me to use really vulgar words when we are making love. I only know three. Could you suggest any new ones?" Abby declined. (Andrews and McMeel, $9.95)
