Picks and Pans Review: Splendor in the Grass

The 1961 movie, with Warren Beatty and Natalie Wood as star-crossed lovers in pre-Depression Kansas, is hard to top. But this TV adaptation comes close, thanks to fine performances by Melissa Gilbert, newcomer Cyril O'Reilly (as her boyfriend), Eva Marie Saint and Ned Beatty.
