Picks and Pans Review: The Incredible Domino Rally

UPDATED 12/07/1981 at 01:00 AM EST Originally published 12/07/1981 at 01:00 AM EST

Inspired by those characters who line up a few thousand dominoes and then knock them over in sequence, this game requires a steady hand and a willingness to pick up all the darned things once you finish. Players compete to create interesting, efficient patterns, using such props as tracks, steps and, in the deluxe, 300-domino set, an elevator. The game maker, Mego Corp. of New York, held a contest earlier in the year for design creativity among U.S. Boys Clubs. The Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Detroit won with a 1,200-domino replica of a Ford assembly line ($6.99-$21.99).
