Having survived encounters with punk rock and urban cowboys, the rough-and-ready rodents take a chunk out of Yuletide. The brainchild of Ross Bagdasarian Jr., whose late dad created the Chipmunks, this album features long-suffering manager David Seville still coping with his intransigent trio, a wise old Santa and a sick boy who wants a harmonica. The tunes include fractured lyrics like these to Jingle Bells: "Dashing through the stores/On a chipmunk skating board/Through the crowds we play/Shopping all the way..."
