Nobody ever accused Ringo of singing. He never seems to take himself seriously either and comes across here as affably atonal as ever. Pals George Harrison, Paul McCartney, Harry Nilsson, Stephen Stills and Ron Wood all contributed material—none of it much of a challenge even for Ringo—and all appear on the album, though McCartney and Harrison don't do any tracks together. Nilsson's Drumming Is My Madness is one of his nice, whimsically bouncy tunes, and Wood's guitar provides a little excitement on Dead Giveaway. This is less a musical enterprise, though, than a friendly note from an old friend to let you know he's still around.
