Ingrid Bergman (see story, p. 82) stars in an excellent TV dramatization of the life of the late Israeli premier Golda Meir. In a uniformly skilled cast, Australian actress Judy (My Brilliant Career) Davis does a fine turn as the young Golda, but the film's strength is Bergman's re-creation of Meir, a blend of Jewish mother and hard-boiled politician. The two-part, four-hour film airs on different days on local stations nationwide.
