Picks and Pans Review: Astro-Logical Love
by Naura Hayden
Hayden is an actress and singer who wrote Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Energy but Were Too Weak to Ask, a book popular in 1977. She explains in this volume that she was inspired to investigate astrology when she read about John Kennedy's love life and began to wonder if he might be a Venus in Gemini ("the most fickle and changeable and discontented of all love signs"). Sure enough. This guidebook will let you evaluate your lovers and friends, based on their birthday. Hayden also lists famous people's birthdays for do-it-yourself analysis. Mick Jagger, Vitas Gerulaitis and Carl Jung were all born on July 26; Dwight Eisenhower, Roger Moore and John Dean on Oct. 14; Goldie Hawn, Voltaire and Stan Musial on Nov. 21. Pancho Villa, according to this list, was born on both June 5 and Oct. 4; a careful reading of his signs indicates he was a problem for his mother but got lots of birthday presents. Don't plan your future on this book, but it might be fun at parties. (Bibli O'Phile, $12.95)
