Ben Gazzara stars as an honest New York cop caught in an elaborate trap set by federal narcotics agents. Paul Sorvino, Robert Vaughn and Tony Roberts co-star in the well-acted but ponderous drama, written by Budd (What Makes Sammy Run?) Schulberg. It's based on the 1978 novel Point Blank by Sonny Grosso (one of the real French Connection cops) and Philip Rosenberg.
