Picks and Pans Review: I'm the One
Flack's soft love songs are ideal for cozying up, or just nodding off if there's nobody around to cozy with. This lulling album may overdo the languor a little, but what it lacks in energy it makes up for in finesse and sweetness. Grover Washington Jr.'s soprano saxophone adds some welcome variety on two tracks—In the Name of Love and My Love for You. Flack gets able backing, too, from keyboardist Richard Tee, drummer Steve Gadd and percussionist Ralph MacDonald, who co-produced and had a hand in writing four of the tunes, including the lightly funky title cut.
