Picks and Pans Review: No Control

Eddie Money

There's no denying his talent. But the persistent calculation of his formula rock sometimes makes it seem that Eddie is throwing good Money after bad. This, his fourth album, and first since 1980, includes such formulaic tunes as Keep My Motor Runnin' ("I'm waitin' for them/With my boxing gloves/They'll never take you from me") and No Control ("When you're running with the devil/You've got no one else to blame"). But there is also a thoughtful eulogy to John Belushi, Passing by the Graveyard (Song for John B.).
