ABC (9-11 p.m. ET)
It can't beat the 1955 version starring James Dean, but this eight-hour adaptation of John Steinbeck's novel is consistently entertaining with plenty of love, lust and violence. Warren Oates, Bruce Boxleitner (see p. 60), Lloyd Bridges and Timothy Bottoms star—but Jane Seymour steals the show as a beautiful wife and mother with a serpent's heart. Additional episodes air Sunday and Monday. (Repeat)
