Old friends, played by Shirley MacLaine, who gives up ballet to raise a family, and Anne Bancroft, who nixes marriage in order to pursue The Dance, lock horns over the future of MacLaine's promising balletomane daughter (Leslie Browne). Mikhail Baryshnikov also cavorts as a balletic leaper and romantic bounder in director Herbert Ross' 1977 movie hit. (Repeat)
