Rejoice. In his first sitcom since the 1978 demise of The Bob Newhart Show, the low-key, offbeat comedian is delicious as a how-to author and history buff who flees the city for life as a Vermont innkeeper. Mary Frann is his understanding wife, and the cast is loaded with oddballs. (Premiere)
