Jane Fonda narrates this sometimes overly reverential look at director-producer Stanley Kramer, a self-described "fish out of water" in Hollywood. His films (The Wild One, Judgment at Nuremberg, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner and 32 others) have customarily been long on social insight and relevance but notoriously short on profits. Katharine Hepburn, Sidney Poitier, Mickey Rooney and other Kramer stars reflect on the filmmaker's message and methods.
