Robert Mitchum loafs through this talky and tedious mystery as a hard-drinking, down-at-the-heels ex-cop hired by Las Vegas casino operator Mel Ferrer to find his missing wife. Howard (WKRP) Hesseman has some bright moments in a small role as a pimp, but Angie Dickinson just takes a walk on the mild side as an ex-tart turned Mitchum's sidekick.
