Picks and Pans Review: The Executioner's Song

Norman Mailer wrote the script for this compelling four-hour TV movie, based on his Pulitzer Prize-winning 1979 book about convicted slayer Gary Gilmore. Tommy Lee Jones plays Gilmore, Rosanna Arquette (see story, page 102) is his mixed-up girlfriend, and Eli Wallach plays his uncle. The conclusion airs tomorrow.
