Picks and Pans Review: Drew Barrymore

UPDATED 12/27/1982 at 01:00 AM EST Originally published 12/27/1982 at 01:00 AM EST

Like most American 7-year-olds, Drew had no trouble choosing her favorite movie: E.T. Of course, she had an extra reason: She starred in it. "It's the best thing that ever happened in my whole life," she exults. On the tube, Drew likes NBC's The Facts of Life and moons over Devo's Whip It, " 'cause it's so naughty." Bookwise, Drew prefers a good teddy bear story. She pans the record Body Language by Queen, the movie Halloween III ("too scary") and TV's The Dukes of Hazzard, because "the car chases are so dumb." Shelve all science books—"so hard and so yucky."
