Maximilian Schell is impressive as a deranged, disfigured conductor in the early 1900s who haunts the Budapest opera house to avenge the death of his opera singer wife. Jane Seymour and Michael York also star in this sumptuous remake of the 1925 horror classic, filmed on location in Hungary.
